Guitar Club

The Guitar Club is an informal, unstructured space where students of various levels of guitar experience can share with other guitarists and develop their craft as musicians. Students are welcome to bring their own instruments. We also provide classical guitars for student use while in the school. The advisor will teach manual tuning, basic chords, strumming patterns, and finger-picking techniques, as well as how to read chord boxes and tablature. Students may use club time to retrieve instructions from the internet to play songs that they want to learn. Tutorial time with the advisor is limited; please understand that Guitar Club cannot offer the same level of instruction that one would expect from private lessons.

Guitar club meets Thursdays, from 2:40-4:30 pm in room 528. For more information, contact Mr. Cadette at scadette@schools.nyc.gov
