"Around 1.2 million people are living with HIV in the United States, and 1 in 8 don’t know it," according to the CDC website.
"About 1 in 4 HIV infections is among youth ages 13-24. Most of them do not know they are infected, are not getting treated, and can unknowingly pass the virus on to others," according to

Congratulations to MCHS for being awarded a $1000 Service Learning grant! This money will go toward our opportunities to help students get hands-on health and service experience. See Mr. Childs or Ms. Davis with questions and if you want to get involved in projects. 

December 2-
Select classes will participate in the 6th and 7th period Health Fair happening on Wednesday. Thanks to Ms. Steinhart, the 6th & 7th period health classes and the Nursing Department of Lehman College for putting on this semi-annual event!

December 5th-
Basketball Game vs Harlem Children Zone 11:00am

December 8th-
Blood Drive (9am-3pm)
*You must be 16 years or older to donate. 16-year-olds may only donate with a signed permission slip

December 9th-
Basketball Game vs. Manhattan HS 4:30pm @ Manhattan HS

December 19th-
First annual Toy Drive sponsored by I AM and VERONICA

All day activities to celebrate the MCHS community. Plan to be there.

I AM Trip to Lucky Strike Lanes

CityHarvest Food Drive
*Grades will be competition for most pounds collected. Collection boxes will be placed in a designated rooms

Join IAM! Every Wednesday till the first week of June
IAM boys volunteers at PS 95 from 3:30pm-5:30pm


Team building exercises, mentoring 6th-8th graders, community out reach, and recreational trips. 
To join I AM you must be male, willing to do outreach, have decent grades and good school attendance.
