Chancellor’s Regulations

The New York City Department of Education's (NYCDOE)Chancellor's Regulationscover a wide range of policies, divided into four sections.

  • Volume A addresses student-related issues, from admissions to promotion.
  • Volume B addresses school-based budgeting.
  • Volume C addresses employee issues, from hiring to termination.
  • Volume D addresses parent and community involvement.

The regulations are available in English, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu (all nine covered languages).


Cell Phone Policy

The terms and conditions attached below will govern the presence and or use of electronic devices in The Marie Curie High School for Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions effective March 2, 2015.

Chancellors Regulation A412- In accordance to Chancellors regulation A413, students will be allowed to bring electronic and computing devices, portable music and entertainment systems into NYC public schools effective March 2, 2015.  The NYC Department of Education demands that each New York City Public School puts in place their own school – based policy regarding the use of these devices within their school community.  The Marie Curie High School assumes no liability for the theft, loss or damage of cellular telephones and other electronic devices possessed by students on school property.  Electronic devices include but are not limited to: cell phones, i-pods, tablets, cameras, MP3 players, computing devices, portable music, and entertainment systems.

Discipline Code

The Discipline Code covers infractions and the range of possible disciplinary and other responses for grades K-5 and grades 6-12, including how students/families can appeal decisions. It also includes the Student’s Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. The guide is available in all nine covered langauges. Download the most recent version of theDiscipline Code along with the Chancellor's letter to parents and Behavioral Contracts for students.
