Guidance

The Marie Curie High School for Medicine, Nursing, and Health Professions provides comprehensive guidance and counseling services responding to the developmental needs of high school students in the areas of academic performance and achievement, social and emotional growth and post-secondary education/vocational planning. Our guidance department effectively communicates with students, parents and administrators to promote self-awareness and create a safe educational environment for all students.

 

Key beliefs of our department are: 

  • To recognize the unique qualities of each individual student and provide them with opportunities to acquire or enhance their competencies in the areas of academic achievement, decision making skills and knowledge of self and others.
  • The staff is committed to assisting each individual in attaining self-understanding and the skills and strategies needed to become life-long learners.
  • Our staff recognizes the self- worth of all students and their right to personalized educational services, as well as a confidential environment.
