Social Studies

Mr. Livingston
Mr. Livingston attended SUNY Cortland from 2001-2005 where he obtained a B.A. in History. He received his Social Studies teaching certificate from CUNY Queens College in 2006. He has a been an educator for the past eight years. Prior to working at MCHS, Mr. Livingston worked as a Middle School Social Studies teacher on Long Island. He is currently in the final semester of a graduate program that will culminate in a M.S.Ed in Literacy Education grades 5-12. Mr. Livingston's passions include teaching History, helping students become better readers and writers, and watching and studying the wonderful game of baseball. 

Mr. Patel
Prior to working at Marie Curie, Mr. Patel worked at The Phoenix Academy (79x490) teaching Social Studies. Mr. Patel is an alumni of SUNY New Paltz (2008) earning both a bachelors and a masters degree in adolescent education. Mr. Patel is looking forward to a year full of exciting learning opportunities and expects nothing but the very best from his students. In his free time, Mr. Patel loves spending time with the family and reading a good book.
Fun Fact: Mr. Patel was once a member of the U.S. Youth Rock Climbing Team and competed internationally in Moscow (1996)

Mr. Reese
Mr. Dan Reese received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton where he earned a BA in History with additional coursework in Philosophy and in English Literature. He spent a year abroad at Edinburgh University (Scotland) studying Medieval and Renaissance history. He firmly believes that the knowledge of history enables students of all ages to better understand the world and their place in it. A deep love for the subject led him to the job and he's been at it since 2005!

Mr. Weir
Mr. Weir attended SUNY Oneonta and starred as THE Captain of the Red Dragons earning his Bachelor's Degree in History and Social Studies Education. In that time, he earned the prestigious "Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year (1994). In his spare time, Mr. Weir enjoys gardening, cooking, and teaching his children. Mr. Weir lives with his current wife and children in his palatial estate on Long Island. He enjoys summering at his family's upstate retreat.

Mr. Niarhos
Mr. Niarhos is commonly mistaken for being either Italian or of Spanish decent but is actually 100% Greek. Mr. Niarhos is a career changer as he worked in the car industry as an automotive technician for approximately 13 years. He returned to complete his post-secondary education at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. He graduated with honors obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in History. He then moved on to SUNY New Paltz. While there he obtained his Master's Degree in Secondary Education. He enjoys the outdoors, (hiking, fishing and hunting). He also enjoys building models as it is very relaxing and soothing. He's more into building WWII era military planes. He was in out of restaurants most of his life as part of family business and developed a deep fondness for cooking.
